Step-by-Step Guide to Editing Salutation Fields in Salesforce

These steps work for the Contact object, as well as Individual, Lead, and Person Accounts.

  1. Start by going to Salesforce Setup and then clicking on Object Manager.
  2. In the Object Manager, find Contact or your desired object as mentioned above. Click on Fields & Relationships.
  3. Look for First Name or Name.

    Note: 
    You won't find the Salutation field by searching for salutation. Instead, search for Name, and then you'll see the Salutation field appear.

  4. When you search for the Name field, the salutation field will appear. As shown in the image below.

  5. Click on the dropdown on the right side and select Edit. Then the salutation picklist edit screen will appear as shown in the below image.

  6. Now you can add, remove, reorder, or deactivate the picklist values for the Salutation field.
